What happened in Rome is of unprecedented gravity, affecting an institutional seat and the entire confederal trade union, a symbol of democracy and the home of all male and female workers.
By hitting the CGIL, all workers and all trade unions were hit. The incredible violence that has taken place shows that we must fight and keep our guard up in Europe against any fascist and anti-democratic regression.
We want to reaffirm and remember that the global workers' movement cannot be silenced and we increasingly relaunch the values of solidarity and collectiveness that distinguishes us, as the demonstration of the Saturday 16 October 2021 fully demonstrated.
