High hopes for whistleblower protection directive
On Monday 23 April at 12.00 the Commission will introduce its directive proposal on whistleblower protection at a press conference with Vice-President Frans Timmermans and Commissioner Vera Jourová. The press conference will most likely be streamed here.
In a comment in anticipation of the publication on Monday, Eurocadres President Martin Jefflén says:
–On basis of our current information we have high hopes for the whistleblower directive which will be published on Monday. We believe we will see many of the criteria we have for the proposal fulfilled and look forward to seeing the final text to assess the details.

In 2016 Eurocadres initiated the platform WhistleblowerProtection.EU, now gathering close to 90 trade unions and NGOs.
–We have pushed for an EU whistleblower protection for a long time now, and we are enthusiastic about the fact that we will finally have a directive proposal on the table on Monday, Martin Jefflén concludes.
