Professionals and managers will play a vital role in Europe’s digital and green transitions, with the COVID-19 pandemic altering our world of work and affording us a chance to build back better. Matching the theme of Eurocadres’ 2021 Congress, the adopted policy programme for 2021 – 2025 focuses on leading responsibly and delivering the necessary changes to our world of work.

–The policy programme adopted during this congress will allow us to influence the future of work in areas such as digitalisation, artificial intelligence, teleworking and workers health and safety, and provided protection for workers through future legislation” – Nayla Glaise.

Speaking on the adoption of the policy programme, Eurocadres’ Nayla Glaise stated: “The world of work has changed dramatically over the last 18 months. In addition to the COVID-19 pandemic, the green and digital transitions have altered the role and expectations of professionals and managers from both their companies and employees’ perspectives. This policy programme adopted during this congress will allow us to influence the future of work in areas such as digitalisation, artificial intelligence, teleworking and workers health and safety, and provided protection for workers through future legislation.

The importance of trade unions in guaranteeing protection through this period of change cannot be overstated, and despite the challenges of the past 18 months, Eurocadres has been successful in representing workers concerns to key stakeholders. Regulation must be provided to protect workers, with professionals and managers calling for a clear line to be drawn between personal professional ethics and corporate social responsibility, through Human Rights Due Diligence legislation and regulation on psychosocial risks.
